Sling-swivels.
Like eyebolts, sling-swivels serve as lifting gear and are screwed or welded into the component to be lifted. In contrast to rotating load rings, sling-swivels have a swivel range of up to 180°. As a means of connection between the load and the lifting gear, sling-swivels are an integral part of the lifting process. The selection of the right product and the high quality of the sling-swivel are therefore of great importance. At Dolezych, you can buy a wide variety of sling-swivels, such as the DoTwist sling-swivel, which is characterized by its versatility and durability.

Sling-swivels from Dolezych: from standard to premium solutions
Compared to eyebolts, sling-swivels have a much larger suspension option (shackle). They can always be rotated through 360° and (with the exception of the rotating load rings) can almost always be rotated under the load itself. In contrast to rotating load rings, however, they can only be swiveled through 90° or 180°, i.e. without a negative stop angle (exceptions prove the rule).
Dolezych offers various sling-swivels. In addition to the standard grade 8 versions, you can also buy grade 10 swivels for more demanding lifting tasks in the Dolezych store. If you would like advice on sling-swivels, please contact our experts.
DoTwist sling-swivel
DoTwist sling-swivels are suitable for lifting and rotating loads and for any type of lifting operation (straight pull, with angle of inclination, tilting or rotating). They are approved for lifting angles from 0° to 90° and have a Dolezych marking. The DoTwist is available with a safety factor of 4 or 5 and both screwable with metric thread and with internal thread, also metric.
Your advantages:
- The material has a higher strength than G 8 components: test series for approval in accordance with EN 1677-1 have been carried out. On average, DoTwist sling-swivels (with a safety factor of 4) have a 23% higher load-bearing capacity than G 8 sling-swivels.
- All non-painted components have an anti-corrosion coating. Among other things, they have a salt spray resistance of 600 hours.
- DoTwist swivel slings achieve higher load capacities in diagonal pull.
- Their bearing is particularly durable.
- Manufactured in Europe
Optional on request:
- Integrated RFID chip
- Additional engraving of the permissible tensile force (lashing capacity, LC) in daN
- Manufactured in accordance with ASME B30.26-2010, but with a safety factor of 5
- Other threads, but with safety factor 5: other standard metric threads, longer metric threads up to 300 mm, metric fine pitch threads, UNC threads 1/4'' to 1 1/4''
GradUp sling-swivel
The GradUp sling-swivels have an increased load-bearing capacity compared to grade 8 sling-swivels, but always have a safety factor of 5 compared to the DoTwist as standard, so that the increased load-bearing capacity compared to grade 8 can be specified as an average of 11%.
- Standard stamped with safety factor 5:1
- Standard with metric thread, whereby the thread pitch can sometimes be found in the tables (if no pitch is specified, this corresponds to DIN 13-1)
The anti-corrosion coating is of particularly high quality. For example, they have a salt spray resistance of 600 hours. They also meet the requirements of DIN EN 1677-1 and are manufactured in Europe.
A special case is the QL-DSR sling-swivel, which has a quick-lift function so that you can save up to 80% of the time required to screw it in compared to a classic sling-swivel.
Optional on request:
- Integrated RFID chip
- Additional engraving of the permissible lashing capacity (LC) in daN
- Other threads with safety factor 5: other standard metric threads, longer metric threads up to 300 mm, metric fine pitch threads, UNC threads 1/4'' to 1 1/4''
- High load capacities up to WLL = 125 t
DoComfort sling-swivel
The DoComfort sling-swivels with DEKRA test seal and H-stamp have a new visible wear indicator on the ball bearing, allowing you to determine their discard maturity without a measuring tool. As grade 10 sling-swivels, DoComfort sling-swivels achieve an average 25% increase in load capacity compared to grade 8. They also have an improved contact surface thanks to a mechanically designed support surface and are protected against corrosion by the galvanic coating.
Further advantages:
- New clear indication of the inclination angle of 45° or 60° by means of markings on the suspension link
- Pinch marks prevent the link from clogging and thus misuse of the swivel
- Additional laser engraving to mark the thread
- Metric thread to DIN 13-1 Diameter (D) x pitch (P)
- Load capacity/WLL in t for 1 strand and 90° with safety factor 4
Stop angle > 90°
Use at a suspension angle of > 90° is permitted. The suspension link or suspended lifting gear must not be supported by the load or the swivel body. The load capacity when used at > 90° is equal to the load capacity at 90°.
You can choose from the following variants of DoComfort sling-swivels:
- DoComfort metric thread
- DoComfort with internal thread
- DoComfort for welding on
Attached or welded: What you need to consider
- Welded: If an anchor point is welded on, you must follow the welding instructions and the weld seam must be checked for correctness.
- Bolted on: You must follow the operating instructions. Among other things, the load and material must be suitable so that the sling-swivel can be screwed in deep enough.
Rotation under the load: What you need to consider
Sling-swivels are equipped with an axially rotatable connection and can therefore be rotated 360° under load. Continuous rotation under load is not permitted! In order for the load capacities to be valid, you must also ensure that the ring of the swivel anchor is always in line with the load capacity.
Information on thread depths for sling-swivels
- The blind holes must be drilled deep enough so that the entire surface of the sling-swivel can lie flat on the bearing surface (in accordance with DIN 76-1)
- The thread depth must ensure the following: ≥ 1 x d for steel, ≥ 1.25 x d for cast iron, ≥ 1.5 x d for cast iron [<200 MPa], ≥ 2 x d for aluminum alloy, ≥ 2.5 x d in light metals
All according to standard: Sling-swivel according to EN 1577, etc.
- The test force corresponds to 2.5 times the permissible load capacity
- Fatigue strength is at least 20,000 cycles at 1.5 times the load capacity (in accordance with EN 1677)
