A look back

The IAA Transportation 2024 trade fair in Hanover once again provided a great opportunity to present our latest developments in the field of load securing and lifting technology. For six days, visitors were able to try out our new products in our test area and talk to our experts about current trends and the future of the transport and logistics industry.

A real highlight was our DoMessPro digital pre-tensioning force measuring device, which was developed for 50 mm lashing belts. It enables the respective pre-tensioning force to be read quickly and reliably on a digital display, which many visitors were able to test for themselves.

We are also particularly proud of our latest generation of ratchet load clamps, the DoQuick. With twice the clamping travel of standard ratchet load tensioners and a shorter lever length, it makes work even faster, more ergonomic and easier. 

The quick-release mechanism makes it possible to retract and extend the thread in just one second, which makes pre-tensioning the chain much easier. This shortens loading times and reduces physical strain. The swivel eye installed on one side, which prevents the steel or textile chains from twisting, was also very well received by visitors.

Another highlight was the DoNova^® textile chain, which impressed visitors with its low weight and enormous strength. Made from the high-performance fiber Dyneema^®, it is as strong as steel, but significantly lighter and also more ergonomic to handle. The new clevis hook for the DoNova^® up to LC 20,000 daN makes working even more ergonomic, as the end hook eliminates the need for coupling links. Thanks to a new label, which is securely housed in a sleeve, rattling metal parts and flapping pendants are now a thing of the past. And as usual, the DoNova^® can be tensioned with the DoRa ratchet load tensioner and now also with the DoQuick.

During the trade fair, the recently published guideline VDI 2700 sheets 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2 for the safe transportation of cars and trucks on vehicle transporters was a hot topic. Our experts provided detailed information about our TensionController complete system for car and truck lashing straps and gave practical tips on how to secure vehicles safely in accordance with the latest guidelines.

Thursday evening was all about networking: our networking party offered the perfect opportunity to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere, make new contacts and strengthen existing partnerships. The evening was a successful conclusion to the first intensive days of the trade fair, before continuing on the following days.

Another highlight on Friday was the presentation by our expert Uwe Schöbel. Under the title “Myths, Facts & Best Practices”, he explained questions about the correct use of lashing straps in a humorous and informative way. Among other things, he discussed whether shortening, knotting or twisting straps is permitted. With many valuable practical tips, our colleague gave the audience directly applicable knowledge for their everyday work.

We can look back on successful and eventful days at the trade fair. In addition to the product presentations, it was particularly valuable to talk to you directly.
