Lifting-chains: versatile in use
Lifting-chains are used in a wide variety of applications to lift heavy loads or goods. We can adapt the different chain systems for you depending on the intended use.
The perfect combination of chain and accessories for every application
Lifting-chains are made up of round steel chains and accessories. By combining lifting-chains and various accessories, you can put together the right lifting-chain for every application and adapt it to your individual requirements.
You will find a large selection of accessories in our online store, such as
- Hooks for lifting slings
- Connecting elements
- Shortening hooks & claws and parallel hooks
- Suspension links & fittings
- Twist catchers
We offer chain systems in three different grade classes: Grade 8, 10 and 12. You can also find multi-strand lifting-chains in our store: In addition to 1-strand lifting-chains, we also offer 2-strand lifting-chains, 3-strand lifting-chains and 4-strand lifting-chains.
Tested for maximum safety
Dolezych steel lifting-chains are high-strength, tempered chains that are subject to strict quality control in the manufacturing process.
All crane chains are tested and have various safety features to guarantee you maximum safety:
- Test force: load of all chains with 2.5 times the load capacity.
- Minimum breaking force: The breaking force must be at least four times the load capacity (safety factor 4).
- Magnetic crack test: Each accessory component is magnetically tested for freedom from cracks in accordance with DIN EN 1677.
- Elongation at break: The chain must elongate by at least 20% before breaking. This is an additional safety measure for you so that you can recognize an overload immediately.
Note on textile chain testing: The DoNova® textile lifting-chain is based on DIN 1492-1 "Textile slings - Safety - Part 1: Flat woven lifting slings made of man-made fibers for general purposes", as it is a textile chain in the strict sense of the Machinery Directive. Accordingly, the safety factor is also 5, whereby the accessory components also comply with DIN EN 1677 and are tested for freedom from tears, among other things.
The heavyweight: robust steel lifting-chains
Lifting-chains made of steel are the most common type of lifting-chain.
Steel lifting-chains are popular because they are robust and durable. They are also heat-resistant and are characterized by a high load capacity and elongation at break. One of the biggest advantages, however, is the quick and easy shortening of a strand with one of our shortening elements (hooks, claws).
The advantages of Dolezych steel sling chains
- Robust and therefore long service life
- Quick and easy to shorten to the correct length
- Heat resistant
- High load capacity and elongation at break
Modular system with configurator: can be put together individually
Before putting the selected sling chain into operation, check that the identification and dimensions are correct. Never use a sling chain that is damaged or no longer marked!
DoNova® textile lifting-chains - particularly light and easy to handle
Textile lifting-chains are an innovation in the field of lifting-chains. Due to their properties and construction, they are referred to as lifting-chains, although they are manufactured in accordance with DIN 1492-1 "Textile slings - Safety - Part 1: Flat woven lifting slings made of man-made fibers for general purposes". However, the load capacity, for example, is based on lifting-chains and the components are also used by lifting-chains.
In general, a chain link consists of several layers of webbing made from the high-performance fiber Dyneema®. A textile lifting-chain is therefore created by interlocking individual chain links. This makes it our only textile lifting equipment that can be easily shortened. DoNova® is just as tear-resistant as a high-strength steel chain. However, thanks to up to 85% less dead weight, it is very ergonomic to work with compared to heavy steel chains. Textile lifting-chains are particularly suitable for sensitive goods. A detailed description of the advantages of the DoNova®PowerLift textile lifting-chains can be found here.
Lifting-chains according to your specifications
Grade 8 and Grade 10 lifting-chains are among the most important lifting equipment. They are used in a wide variety of applications to lift heavy loads or goods (e.g. in construction). We can adapt the different chain systems for you depending on the intended use.
No matter which chain system you choose: The selection of accessories for lifting-chains is huge. Different types of hooks, shortening options, suspension links, swirl catchers, etc., etc. ... your individual lifting-chain can be put together for your specific application.

Buying lifting-chains: our grades
The grade determines the load capacity of the chain. You can buy lifting-chains in three different grades in the Dolezych store:
Grade 8 chain slings: Our DoKett1 (up to nominal size 22) and DoKett2(up to nominal size 20) series
- According to DIN EN 818-4
- Proven quality standard = the universal system
- Very wide range of accessories as a modular system
- Can be used from -40°C to +400°C
Grade 10 lifting-chains: Our DoKett Plus (up to nominal size 16) and DoComfort(up to nominal size 26) series
- 25% higher load capacity than the same nominal size for grade 8 chains
- Therefore lower weight compared to grade 8 with the same load capacity
- Large range of accessories as a modular system
- For marking with 10-sided load capacity tag
Grade 12 lifting-chains: Our DoComfortMax product series (up to nominal size 16)
- 50% higher load capacity than the same nominal size in grade 8
- 20% higher load capacity than the same nominal size in grade 10
- This means lower weight compared to grade 8 and 10 chains with the same load capacity
- Patented material
- Can be individually combined in a modular system with accessories from our store
- Application range: from -60°C to +300°C
You can choose between different grades - they determine the load capacity of the crane chain. The higher the grade for the same nominal size, the higher the load capacity for the same weight.
