Rotating load rings.
Rotating load rings belong to the group of sling-swivels. Like eyebolts, they serve as lifting gear between the load and the lifting gear itself, such as lifting-chains, lifting-ropes or lifting-slings. They are screwed into the component to be lifted. Rotating load rings are often used for lifting, but also for load securing when space-saving components are required, as the construction builds up less at the top than conventional slings.

Rotating load rings from Dolezych: features and advantages at a glance
An important feature of rotating load rings is that the load bracket is not installed in line with the screw, as is the case with other sling-swivels, but is offset to the side. This means that, in contrast to the "standard" sling-swivel, which is symmetrically aligned, rotating load rings are characterized by their asymmetry. This means that the force applied to the rotating load rings is eccentric. The advantage is the low overall height and a negative stop angle, which is guaranteed by this design. However, rotating load rings can "only" be aligned in the load direction and cannot be rotated under load. In addition, they have a slightly lower load-bearing capacity compared to standard sling-swivels with the same screw size.
Advantages of our products at a glance:
- "Negative" stop angle (max. 90° for conventional swivel stops, e.g. our DLR with 120°)
- Low installation height (stop bracket positioned at the side)
Rotatable = can be aligned in load direction
- Clamping spring = holds the bracket in the desired direction & has a noise-reducing effect
- For the RB and DoComfort products, the screw can also be replaced (please follow the operating instructions)
Buying rotating load rings: These variants are available from Dolezych
At Dolezych, you can buy various rotating load rings in accordance with EN 1677. All our rotating load rings are grade 10, which gives you 25% more load-bearing capacity than comparable products in grade 8. Thanks to the 100% crack-tested bolts, the rotating load rings can be bolted and are therefore easy to attach to your load. The rotating load rings are also clearly marked, including the load capacity and batch identification for each forged part.
Dolezych rotating load ring
- DLR: our new product range for lifting points and swivels [DLR = Dolezych Load Rings]
- With Dolezych marking
- With screws of strength class 10.9
- Maximum sling angle 120° (i.e. possible with a negative angle of 30°) - 360° rotation means a sling angle of 240°, so to speak
Rotating load ring RB (blue)
- Standard: Fixed thread lengths
- You can request specific thread lengths from us
- With H-stamp
- Bolt can be replaced, but only original 10.9 bolts (100% crack-tested) from the manufacturer may be used!
- Increased temperature range without loss of load-bearing capacity up to 300° C
- Maximum stop angle 95° (means possible with a negative angle of 5°) - the 360° rotatability creates a stop angle of 190°, so to speak
DoComfort rotating load ring
- Standard: Fixed thread lengths
- You can request specific thread lengths from us
- With H-stamp
- Bolt can be replaced at your request, whereby only original 10.9 bolts (100% crack-tested) from the manufacturer may be used
- Maximum stop angle 110° (means possible with a negative angle of 30°) - the 360° rotatability creates a stop angle of 220°, so to speak
You must observe the following when handling rotating load rings
- For one-off transportation, it is sufficient to tighten the rotating load ring by hand using the appropriate tools (without using an extension). For permanent attachment, you must observe and comply with the torque specified in the operating instructions.
- Rotating load rings can be rotated 360° for positioning, but cannot be rotated under load.
- Our rotating load rings can also be used under a negative stop angle. Observe the operating instructions here (Note: Not every rotating load ring on the market can be used under a negative stop angle. In addition, the angle specifications differ for each rotating load ring).
- If an attachment point is used for lashing, the permissible lashing capacity (LC) = 2 x WLL (load capacity). An attachment point loaded with more than 1 x WLL during lashing may no longer be used for lifting!
Rotating load rings according to EN 1677: What the standard includes
- The test load corresponds to 2.5 times the permissible load capacity
- The load capacity stamped on the rotating load rings refers to the load at 90°
- Fatigue resistance is at least 20,000 cycles at 1.5 times the load capacity (in accordance with EN 1677)
- All rotating load rings meet the requirements of the Machinery Directive
Good to know: Information on thread depths
- You must drill the blind holes deep enough so that the rotating load ring can rest flat on the entire support surface (according to DIN 76-1)
- The thread depth must ensure the following: ≥ 1 x d for steel, ≥ 1.25 x d for cast iron, ≥ 1.5 x d for cast iron [< 200 MPa], ≥ 2 x d for aluminum alloy, ≥ 2.5 x d in light metals
