Heinz Fritz GmbH from the Swabian town of Herbrechtingen processes plastics into high-quality finished parts that are used, for example, for XXL aquariums in zoos or as machine covers. Before the objects reach their final state, they have to be repeatedly lifted and turned during the machining process. And this is where we come into play. Depending on the raw material, the value of the plastic can be as high as the price of a luxury car. This makes it all the more important to ensure optimum safety when lifting and transporting the materials.
Our DoLast® spreader beam with round slings was used for the art object “Zephyr” by Kuwaiti artist Monira Al Qadiri to make working with the sensitive works of art easier and safer. The five largest illuminated acrylic sculptures in the world, which depict plankton magnified approximately 20,000 times, then had to be transported safely to Doha (Qatar). There they can be viewed in a permanent exhibition. With object dimensions of around 3 x 2.5 meters, thicknesses of up to 900 mm and off-centre centres of gravity, a great deal of skill was required.
