When lifting loads with lifting accessories, persons beneath or alongside the load are exposed to particular risks. Residual risks remain when using lifting accessories. These include in particular:
• an insufficiently secure connection between the lifting accessory and the load,
• swinging loads during lifting, and
• falling loads.
The following instructions must be observed to ensure safe handling of the product.
• Observe the maximum lifting capacity. The product must never be loaded beyond its specified lifting capacity.
• Observe the permissible temperature ranges.
• Avoid contact with acids and alkalis.
• Hooks must be inspected for visible damage (corrosion, deformation) before use.
• Hooks showing signs of deformation must not be used.
• Load hooks only in the bowl of the hook. Hooks must not be loaded at the tip unless specifically designed for that purpose.
• Hooks must not be subjected to bending forces. To avoid bending stresses, hooks must not rest on edges.
• Avoid shock loading and sudden impacts.
• Do not place loads on the product if this could cause damage to the product.
• Never drag the load across the product.
